My Favorite Sippy Cups

It seems there are a million choices when it comes to Sippy Cups for your baby. I wanted one that was eco-friendly, BPA free and did not leak. Here is my feedback on the ones that I tested:

1. Kid Klean Kanteen water bottle that comes with the attachment that you can use with the Avent Magic Sippy Spout is my favorite. You can buy it all together and I love it because it is stainless steal, BPA Free spout and does not leak. .The down fall is that it does not come with a lid to cover the spout so when you travel, it is always exposed.

2. Sugerbooger Sippy Cup is the cutest looking Sippy Cup. They have the best designs and they are also BPA free and made of non toxic melamine, so it is shatter proof. It is not leak free, if your baby is learning to drink out of a Sippy Cup and turns it upside down, water will leak out of the sip holes. It is a great cup, from a great company.

3. Weil Baby Tritan Training Cup is fun with its bright colors. However, it is not a great design The training spout is mediocre and the frustrating part is that the training cup part is just one of the 5 oz Trian bottles that they made into a fancy color and added a training spout and handle and then sold it separately. You actually could just buy the extra handle and spout and use it on the bottles, if you already have them. I was not in love with this cup. I use and love the Weil Baby glass bottles but would not recommend the training cup.

Palin Trashs Breast Feeding

This article is crazy. All women should be supported and encouraged to breast feed.

Palin and Bachmann trash Michelle Obama's breast-feeding advocacy

Eco Friendly Cribs

Are you looking for the perfect crib that is sustainable, eco-friendly and non toxic for your sweet little baby? This is a great post about eco-friendly cribs. We purchased a beautiful oak crib from, "The Natural Home". It is Amish made and beautifully constructed . Yes, you are going to pay more for these type of cribs but I promise you that it is totally worth it. Think of it as an investment into your baby's health. Plus, if you have more then one baby, you can use it again.

Check these out!

How To Prevent Waste and Save Money on Baby Clothes

One of my favorite things to do is go thrift store shopping and since having a baby, I love it even more. My little Tallulah, grows so fast that she barely gets to wear half of her clothes. It seems a little wasteful and silly to buy new clothes for babies so my advice is to hit the thrift stores, consignment stores, ebay, www.shopgoodwill.com and the great site, www.threadup.com. You will find such satisfaction in that special find of a brand new or gently used winter coat for only $2.00 or that amazing pair of old baby Levis for 96 cents. You can save money, save waste and save time! Of course, do not feel bad if you give in once and awhile and buy those new little baby jeggings!

So take some time this weekend and assess your baby's closet and see what you really have and what you really need and check out your local thrift store.

Good luck and do not forget to bring your reusable shopping bag for all those fun finds.

Share your ideas and places you love!! I would love to hear your thoughts!

I Will Miss You Mothering Magazine

How We Became a Web Company

I am very sad to hear that after 35 years, Mothering Magazine, will be stopping publication. This magazine is a necessity for all natural mommies and it will be missed always.

If there was a way to save this magazine, we should all work together to do so. Please share your comments on the link above. Again, this magazine has brought me comfort and ease for many of my tough baby decisions.

Thank you for everything Mothering Magazine.

Placenta Therapy

Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been so behind on posting. Life gets busy with a baby! Today I had lunch with a great group of women. Some are pregnant with first babies to come and some of us have new babies. We wanted to pass our advice and wisdom on to these soon to be new mommies. One of my biggest things I recommend is placenta encapsulation. I know what you are thinking, "So gross" and "NO WAY", but I promise you, it is super easy and so wonderful for you.

It does so many good things and you do not taste anything, I promise. We had this wonderful woman name Mykal from Fruit of the Womb, come to our house and take care of everything. Check out her site, the video below or this article on MSN.
